In 1934 Anne Morrow Lindbergh became the first woman to receive the National Geographic Society’s Hubbard Gold Medal, and in 1934 she received the Harmon National Trophy (American Woman). She was the first woman to win the Veteran Wireless Operators Association Gold Medal, for establishing a new long-distance wireless communications record of 3,000 miles.
