Description:
This barograph provided an accurate record of the airplane’s altitude and flight duration. The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale regulations required a barograph tracing on all competitive flights.
Recorded on the drum were Lindbergh’s takeoff and climb, his ascents to various altitudes in search of favorable winds, his attempts to rise over storms and fog banks, his sudden drops because of turbulent air, his partial descent near Ireland, his flight over Europe, and his landing in Paris.
