This motor was used in the flight of ARS #4 on Staten Island on September 9, 1934. It burned liquid oxygen and gasoline. That flight was the American Rocket Society’s most successful. The rocket reached a height of 382 feet, a distance of 1,585 feet, and a velocity approaching the speed of sound.
